My Background

I began serving as a Professional Fiduciary when a friend with a terminal illness asked me to serve as her health care surrogate, agent under power of attorney, personal representative and trustee. Serving in those various roles was both a challenge and a privilege. When it was time to return to my legal profession, I chose to use my training and experience to serve others in similar capacities, advocating for them in life and death as a Professional Fiduciary.

Agent under Power of

Attorney:

an individual who has been given authority to act for another person in specified or all legal or financial matters.

As your agent under a power of attorney document, I work with you as you transition to more or less involvement in your own business affairs for lengthy vacations, short hospital stays, or permanently to allow you to enjoy your life to the fullest.

Health Care Surrogate: an individual

you authorize to make medical decisions for you when you are unable to make your own decisions.

As your health care surrogate, I make decisions for you when you cannot. Your wishes, as they are documented, are my directive to carry out for you.

Trustee:

an individual given authority or powers of administration of assets in trust with a legal obligation to administer it solely for the purposes specified.

As independent trustee, I relieve your family and friends of the burden, while providing you with peace of mind that your written wishes will be administered professionally.

Naming me as your personal representative will provide you with an objective third party who will be responsible for carrying out the terms of your will with objectivity.

Personal Representative: an individual appointed by a testator to carry out the terms of their will, also referred to as an executor.
